Introduction

When I first started numbering FFA charts, I included both male and female lines; hence, this female line of a former FFA member. I’ve decided to keep these female lines in place so as not to confuse the numbering system.

As soon as the FFA finds the parents of Hannah, this chart will no longer be maintained, but continue with her parent’s chart. Hopefully, it will connect into another male chart. Hannah French’s parents seem not to be found anywhere. If you find more data, please email marafrench@mindspring.com.

History

Hannah French was b. ca. 1810 in Phelps, Ontario Co., NY. Hannah m. Henry Winfield Brink on 7 Apr 1830 in Arcadia, Ontario Co., NY.

Henry was b. 27 Nov 1808 in Machackmeck (or Deerpark), Orange Co., NY, the son of Simon Brink and Phoebe Windfield. He died on 7 Mar 1886 in McHenry Co., IL, formerly of Phelps, NY, aged 77 years and 8 months.

Henry is listed in the 1850 census of Algonquin, McHenry Co., IL as 42, born 1808 in New Jersey, with his wife Hannah, b. 1810, and their 6 children:

· Simon Brink, 19, b. 1831 in NY.

· Malan Brink, 17, b. 1833 in NY.

· John Brink, 16, b. 1834 in NY.

· Mary Brink, 14, b. 1836 in NY.

· Marshal Brink, 12, b. 1838 in NY.

· Margaret Brink, 10, b. 1840 in NY.

In 1850 they were living next door to Joshua French (63), Emily French (6), Phebe French (28), and Samuel French (18). The adult members of both the French and Brink families were farmers.

Hannah French’s Parents

Hannah French’s parents, Joshua French (b. 1787 in NY) and Emily (b. 1790 in CT), had 10 children:

· Patience French who m. Asiah Smith.

· Arvilla French who m. Lafayette Thomas Sr.

· Almyra French who m. S. M. Thomas.

· Abbey French who m. Joseph Brink.

· Mercy French who m. Clancy Chapman.

· Cynthia French

· Martha Ann French who m. Ruben R. Sherwood.

· Phoebe French who m. Samuel J. Smith. She was 18 in 1850, b. 1832.

· Samuel French.

The 1840 census of Phelps, Ontario Co., NY, lists Henry Brink.
