b. 1923, age 6 in the 1930
census of Antis, Blair, PA, living with his father Louis who was widowed
the year before the census was taken, and, as he was unable to take care of the
children, they were all living together with James E. Parker and Effie M.
Parker, both of whom were age 45. Besides them, the family included Louis
French age 32, Robert L. French age 6, Rachael G. French age 5, and Betty J.
French age 4. In 1930, they lived at 182 North Tuckahoe Road in Antis, and
Louis was an insurance salesman.

1924 in Altoona, Blair, PA, d. 12 Dec 1995 aged 71 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada, m. Kenneth
L. Bartlesbaugh (1915-1997), and had son Dennis Lee Bartlebaugh (1949-1969, aged 20). She was cremated and per
her request, her ashes were scattered in the Sierra Mountains. Rachel lived
much of her life in California, moving to Nevada a year before she died.

aged 34).

Blair French, b. 10 Feb 1928
in Altoona, Clair, PA, (Bellwood, PA), d. 6 Feb 1973 in Altoona, Blair, PA, and
was buried in the Grandview Cemetery in Altoona. It is unsure where this child
was living, but her was not living with the rest of the family in the 1930
census. As Louis’ wife died the year before on 19 May 1929 in Altoona, Blair,
PA, Louis couldn’t take care of the children so the mother of the children’s
biological mother, Margaret Catherine Green French, took care of them. The 3
older children went by French and Christian went by Green. Christian served in
the Korean War and in WWII.

Miller (1939-2001), and had 4 children including James Alton French (1956-2006
in Moshannon, Snow Shoe Twp, Center, PA).

Blair, PA, d. 26 Feb 1994 in Altoona, Blair, PA, listed in 1940 census as age
1. James m. Eva Jane Long and had 7 children and lived in Donnertown.
One son was names James after his father, but James photos are shown below.

Franklin Holland on 17 Apr 1961 and lived in Frankstown
and had 2 children: Susan A. Holland who m. Klesyk,
and Kenneth B. Holland. Georgetta d. 21 Jun 2009 aged 68 in Altoona, Blair, PA.
Her obituary states her siblings: Michael, David, James, Margaret Smith, Violet
Eckenrode, Kathleen Blazer, Donald, Daniel, George.
She died before 2013 as per her brother Michael’s obituary.

Lakemont, Blair, PA, d. 3 Sep 2008 in Altoona, Blair, PA, m. Duane Irvin Eckenrode. She died before 2013 as per her brother
Michael’s obituary.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Louis and Georgetta (Ringler)
French.
She married Duane Eckenrode.
Surviving are a daughter, Justine of Lakemont; two grandsons; sisters:
Georgetta "Sis, Margaret, Kathy and Susan; brothers: Don, Mick, George,
Dan; and a half brother, Charles.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or service.
Interment at Presbyterian Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg
6.32 Michael “Mick” Wayne French, b. 3 Jul 1947 in
Altoona, Blair, PA, d. 3 Dec 2013 aged 66 in Duncansville, Blair, PA, m. Erla Marie Ritchey (maiden name) Weyandt
(previous husband’s name) on 9 Jul 1993 in Winchester, Winchester, VA, who was
born in 1937 and died in 2004. Michael lived in Williamsburg. He was buried in
the Claysburg Union Cemetery in Claysburg, Blair, PA.
Michael W. "Mick" French, 66, Duncansville,
passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening at his residence. He was born in
Altoona, son of Louis Bert Jack and Georgetta M. "Sis" (Ringler)
French. He married Marie Ritchey in Winchester, Va., and she died June 4, 2004.
Surviving are three stepdaughters: Brenda Anderson of Bellwood, Louann McCready
of Hollidaysburg and Gretchen Dick of Hollidaysburg; eight grandchildren; a
special great-granddaughter, Zoe; three brothers: George of Martinsburg, Donald
of Duncansville and Daniel of Hollidaysburg; and three sisters: Margaret Smith
of Collegeville, Kathy Blazer of Hollidaysburg and Susan Klesyk
of Hollidaysburg. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Georgetta Holland
and Violet Eckenrode; and three brothers: Charles,
James and David. Mick was a delivery man for Keystone Auto Parts, Newry. He enjoyed working on cars and was a NASCAR fan. Friends
will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 5, 2013, at Plank,
Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a
funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, by Pastor Mark
Rhodes. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Claysburg.
