French, b. 5 Oct 1880 in Iowa, of Mitchel, SD, m. Selma F. Goodbla and divorced. Otis had
one son by a lady named Pearl. He was a farmer. He d. 4 Dec 1957 in Washington.
5.2* Abraham “Abe” Lincoln French, b.
17 Sep 1887 in Table Rock, Pawnee Co., NE, of Hulett, Wyoming, m. Mary K.
Molitor in 1913 and had 8 children: Henry, Helen, William, Joseph, Jacob,
Clara, James, Mary. He was a rancher and d. 3 Sep 1966, aged 78, in Hulett,
Crook, Wyoming, and was buried in the Moore Hill Cemetery in Crook County,
Wyoming. The family continues with daughter Helen A. French (6), b. 26 Nov 1915
in Mitchell, Davison Co., SD, m. Thomas J. Palmer; Vickey L. Palmer (7), m.
Gilmore.

Davison County, SD, d. Feb 1884, aged 89, and was buried in the Graceland
Cemetery, Mitchell, Davison, SD. John m. Julia Ella McClain in 1925. She was b.
1902, d. 1990. John was the maternal grandfather of Michelle (Miller) Renigar,
Ref. [33]. Michelle was the daughter of Evelyn (French) and Walter H. Miller
[33].

Wataga, IL, m. William Johnson 24 Jun 1940 in Davenport, IA.
5.11* Delwin Howe French, b. 29 Jul 1911 in Wataga, Knox Co., IL, m. 27 Sep 1939 to Verda Minnie Slane [3], the dau. of George and Jeannette Slane. Both Delwin and Verda died in 1998; Delwin d. 12 Nov 1998 in Galesburg, Knox Co., IL. Verda died 6 Aug 1998, aged 81. They were buried in the Sparta Township Cemetery, Wataga, Knox, IL. In the 1920 census of Galesburg, Knox Co., IL, Delwin was living with his parents and siblings. Not sure where Della Rae (West) French comes in. In the 1930 census he was living in Sparta, Knox Co., IL, with the Williamson family. Delwin was a Major in the 99th Infantry of WWII.

5.13 Beryl E. French, b. 18 Sep 1916, m. Saylor E. Conard, d. Jul 1990 at age 73, buried in the Oak Law Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Knox, IL.
Children of Robert Bert Jack and Elizabeth Ellen (Lear) French, 4.35
Robert m1. Elizabeth Ellen Lear, b. 1859, d. 1900 only 2 years after their twins were born and Robert had to put the children in an orphanage as he couldn’t take care of them. After Elizabeth’s death, Robert m2. Mary A. Aker who was b. 1872. She preceded him in death also. Surviving were 3 daughters and 4 sons: Mrs. Lottie Moist of Lakemont, Roeta French of Beaver Falls, Mrs. Ruth Sayers of Lewistown, William French of Youngstown, Ohio, Simon French of Springfield, MA, Charles French of the US Navy, and Lewis French of Altoona. Two brothers and one sister also survived after Robert died: David French of Mount Union, and George W. French of Lakemont and Mrs. Annie Guyer of Franklin County, and 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Robert was a member of the Brethren Church. Robert is listed in 1870 census as age 9. He was a former resident of Lakemont.
5.14 Charlotte “Lottie” Gertrude French, 7 Apr 1885 in Burnt Cabins, Franklin, PA, d. 16 Jul 1941 in Altoona, Blair, PA, m. Isaac Alvin Moist and had 6 children: Alvin, Lizzie, Minerva, Violet, Ruth, Roeta. In 1932 Lottie was living in Lakemont, PA.
5.15 William French, b. 26 Aug 1886 in Shade Gap, Huntingdon, PA, d. 2 Mar 1945 in Youngstown, Mahoning, OH, m. Mable Mae Singer and had son Robert Duane French (1920-1981).
5.16* Simon Miller French, b. 16 Oct 1890 in McVaytown, PA, d. 23 Apr 1970 in Westfield, Hampden, MA, m. Lena B. Peloquin and had 5 children: Pearl Violet French, Sherman Earl French, Kenneth R. French, Richard Allan French, Robert Victor French. In 1932 when his father died, Simon was living in Springfield, MA. Simon moved to Massachusetts to get married.
5.17 Roeta French of Beaver Falls.
5.18 Ruth G. French, 10 May 1898 (twin) in Mount Union, Huntingdon, PA, d. 2 Nov 1970 in Shirleysburg, PA, m. Allen Landis Sayers and had son Herman Eugene Sayers. In 1932 when her father died, she was living in Lewiston. Her mother died 2 years after she was born, and her father, Robert, could not raise her nor her twin, so they lived in an orphanage home; that home since then burned down in Williamsburg, PA. Louis, Ruth’s twin, was adopted when he was two years old at the orphanage home when a school teacher from Tyrone, PA was down there and she saw him she thought he was so beautiful so she adopted him but not his sister. Ruth was adopted by another family. Louie married a second time to a woman named Margaret Green and they had four children.
5.19* Louis Bert Jack French, b. 10 May 1898 (twin)
in Mount Union, Huntingdon (was Mifflin County in 1898), PA, d. 1 Apr 1958 in Logan
or Lakemont, Blair, PA, of a heart attack, and was buried in the McIntire
Cemetery (Catfish), PA. He m1. Margaret Catherine Green (1905-1929) on 8 Jan
1923 and had 4 children. Then Louis lived with Gertrude Taylor, b. 1906, and
they had 4 children together, even though they were not married; they split up
and went their separate ways, and Gertrude had the children with her. Then
Louis m2. Georgetta M. Ringler (1918-1973) and had 11 children. He was in WWI
in Camp Boyd, Ft. Bliss, TX. In 1923 he became a Mounted Police and rode horses
in Hollidaysburg, Altoona, Blair, PA, and later worked in the Post Office as a

Louis’ mother died 2 years after he was born, and his father, Robert, could not
raise him nor his twin, so they lived in an orphanage home; that home since
