Trumbull Congregational Church, established in 1730, the oldest parish in Trumbull, CT. The church shown here is the 3rd church that was built in 1842, which was later destroyed by fire in 1898 and replaced but at a different location. The original church was on Church Hill Road next to the old Town Hall, which today is known as the Helen Plumb Building.

Trumbull was settled as a part of Stratford, CT, after 1639. The northern parts of present-day Trumbull were purchased from the Paugussett Indian Tribe in 1661 and 1662 by Stratford selectmen.
