8.2 John Carlos (or Charles) French, b. 1854, m. Isabell Hyland of Brooklyn, NY [61], and had daughter Isabel French, b. ca. 1886.
8.3 Frank M. French, b. 12 Feb 1856 [61] in New York.
8.4* James Morgan French, b. 6 Oct 1859 in CT, d. 11 Jul 1921 [61]. He appears in the 1900 census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, as age 40, married to Maria French, in which he states that both his parents were born in CT; he is living with children Maria (5), James (4), John (2). He appears in the 1910 census of Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, as age 50, married to Marie French, age 42, with children James (14), John (12), Abram (2), and Marie (15). He appears in the 1920 census of Westwood, Bergen Co., NJ, with his wife Maria and children James (23), John (21), and Abram (12). He died the next year.

8.5 Mary Electa French, b. 14 Jul 1851 in Beaumont, TX, m. 22 Dec 1870 to Thomas H. Langham, d. 17 Aug 1934 in Beaumont, TX [19]. Thomas was b. 3 Aug 1846, d. 19 Apr 1920 in Beaumont, TX, the son of James ŌBidĶ and Sarah Langham [19]. Thomas Langham was Sheriff of Jefferson County, TX for 24 years and Mayor of Beaumont for 4 years. He retired from both positions. He acquired a great deal of property and became very wealthy [19] [46]. See Chapter 4, Related Families, for Mary Electa FrenchÕs related families Langham, Treadaway, Wier, Junker, and Spencer.

This was AugustÕs second marriage – his first marriage was to CorneliaÕs sister, Azema, who died. Cornelia d. 10 Jul 1930 in Beaumont. Nicholas d. 19 Jan 1900. 8.8* John Erasmus French, b. 20 Dec 1856 in Beaumont, TX, m. 15 Sep 1883 to Emma Olive Pivoto/Peveto, dau. of Joseph and Adeline (Wright) Pivoto, d. 29 Aug 1934 in Beaumont, TX. Emma was b. 2 Jul 1864 in Nome, TX, d. 10 May 1947 in Beaumont, TX [7] [19], buried at the Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, TX. Erasmus was called Erastus by some of his family as a joke.
8.9 David Richard French, Jr., b. 25 Feb 1859 in Beaumont, TX, m. 1 Nov 1883 to Nora Alypha West, d. 23 Apr 1904 in Beaumont, TX. Nora was b. 26 Jun 1863, d. 21 Jul 1889 in childbirth along with the infant [19].
8.10 Azema/Azama Virginia French, b. 28 Mar 1865 in Beaumont, TX, m. 20 May 1884 to August DeLaune. She d. 11 Aug 1894. August was b. 21 Jul 1854, d. 23 Oct 1935. After AzemaÕs death, August married her sister, Cornelia [19]. Azema FrenchÕs related families: DeLaune, Maley, Morris, and Ewing. Azema had daughter Bertha DeLaune who m. John Henry Maley of Kansas City, MO [63]. John Henry and Bertha Maley had dau. Virginia Maley who m. Robert J. Morris, Jr., D.D.S. of New Orleans, and had 8 children including Tommy Morris [63].

8.12 Theodore Alwyn French, b. 19 Nov 1869 in Beaumont, TX, m. 3 wives, no issue, d. 20 Mar 1932 in Beaumont, TX [19]. Theodore m1. Minnie A. LaBelle in 1893. She was known as Minnie Bee Justus. Theodore was MinnieÕs auntÕs husband. When her aunt died, MinnieÕs mother m. Theodore. Minnie Bee JustusÕ father was both her auntÕs husband and her motherÕs husband. (Told to me by the elderly lady living in David FrenchÕs house next to the French Trading Post in 1988). Theodore m2. Iola Edwards, m3. Edna Justice.

8.15 David Harris French, b. 18 Aug 1860, d. 5 Nov 1881 of Tuberculosis (TB) or consumption, as it was called in those days. Since it was known that David was going to die, his brother, who was born two weeks before David died, was named after him [41].

Edith M. French, b. 1876 in Rhode Island, was living in the 1880 census of Killingly, Windham Co., CT with her parents and sister Ethel. In the 1900 census, she was living in Meriden, New Haven Co., CT, single.
