7.1 Charles French [61], b. 3 Jul 1808 in New London, New London Co., CT. He m. Elizabeth Harris of New London on 5 May 1830 by Rev. Daniel Wildman. He may be the Charles French who d. 9 Jan 1892 in CT and is buried at the Carrington Cemetery, Bethany, CT.

7.2 Eliza (Elizabeth) M. French [61], b. 26 Nov 1809 in CT, listed in the 1850 census of New London, New London Co., CT, just after her father died in 1848, living with her mother Elizabeth, age 66, and with her sister Ann who had married Charles Smith.

7.3 Lucretia French [61], b. 22 Nov 1811 in New London, CT, the dau. of John II and Betsey. She m. Benjamin F. Wright of NY on 28 Nov 1832 by Rev. J. W. Hallam.

7.4* John Francis French [61], b. 28 Jan 1821, m. Abby Starr Mercer, dau. of Peter and Rebecca Mercer, on 20 Nov 1849 by Rev. Robert A. Hallam, and had 5 children [61].

7.5 Ann Sheffield French [61], b. 1825 in CT, living in New London, New London Co., CT in the 1850 census with her husband Charles H. Smith, age 37, born in 1813 in NY. They married on 3 Oct 1844 by Rev. Thomas J. Greenwood and had children Lucretia M. Smith (4), Charles F. Smith (2), and newborn Benjamin A. W. Smith. Ann and Charles appear in the 1860 census of New London with the same 3 children.

7.6 Electa Jane French I, b. 14 Feb 1821 at Oxford, CT, d. 11 Oct 1822 in Shawangunk, Utica Co., NY [7].

7.7 Electa Jane French II, b. 9 Jan 1823 (or 19 Nov [19]) in Utica Co., NY [19]. Her father disowned her in Beaumont and she ran off with a man named Aaron Nelson. It is not known if she married him, but they settled in Starks, LA, just over the border from Beaumont, TX. Many members of the Nelson family lived in Starks, whose names show up on several of the gravestones [53].

7.8 Nancy Eliza French, b. 5 or 15 Feb 1825 in Shawangunk, Utica Co., NY, d. 13 Jan 1893 at Taylor’s Bayou, TX, m. George Burrell on 24 Aug 1843 [7] [8]. (See Chapter 6, Nancy Eliza French, for continuation of this line).

7.9* David Richard French III, b. 7 Apr 1827 in Shawangunk, NY, m. Amelia Guedry/Guidry on 14 Mar 1850 in Beaumont, TX, dau. of Joshua and Marie (Giroud) Guedry, d. 18 Feb 1922 [19] or 3 Nov 1923 according to tombstone in Beaumont, TX. Marie was b. 29 Jan 1835 in Lafayette, LA, d. 3 Nov 1903 in Beaumont, TX [7].
