All these children were born in Derby, CT, only one son married.
2.1 Lydia French, b. 21 Aug 1662 at Derby CT, d. 7 Sep 1669 age 7 [6] [7] [11] [19] [22].
2.2 Elizabeth French, b. 20 Jun 1664 [3] [8] or 10 Jun 1664 [19] at Derby CT, d. 18 Nov 1739 [11] age 76 in Wallingford, NY [3], m. 20 Nov 1684 to Joseph Holt [6]. Joseph was b. 2 Apr 1655, d. 19 Dec 1697 [13]. This line had the following surnames: Holt, Hall, Dunbar, Hitchcock, Connick, Townsend, Hiller, Annis, Traver, Anderson [7] [13] [19] [22].
"With her five small children we may imagine the following years were difficult ones for this young widow of thirty-three years [her husband Joseph HOLT died 19 Dec 1697], but that she bravely met and overcame her difficulties is indicated by the fact that her children all grew to manhood and womanhood. We have the record of the marriage of all of them. (P) Elizabeth French Holt survived her husband by more than thirty-three years. 2.3 Anna French, b. 10 Aug 1666 [8] at Derby CT, d. Dec 169- in Milford [18], m. 1 Jun 1685 in Milford CT, to Thomas Wheeler [11] in New Haven CT [6] [7] [22]. Thomas was son of Thomas and Joan Wheeler, bap. 28 Jul 1650 [19].
2.4 Mary French, b. 7 Sep 1668 [8] at Derby CT, d. 16 Jan 1688/9 age 20 [6] [7] [11] [19] [22].
2.5 Lydia French (the second after the first Lydia had died), b. 28 Sep 1670 [8] at Derby CT, m. 4 Nov 1691 to Samuel Bowers in Derby CT [6] [7] [22]. Samuel was son of Rev. John and Bridget (Thompson) Bowers [19] [31], who m1. Ruth Wooster, dau. of Edward Wooster, m2. Lydia, dau. of Francis French. All children were from Lydia [7]:

2.8* Francis French, Jr., b. 11 Feb 1677 in Derby, New Haven Co., CT, m. Anna Bowers 2 Sep 1703, d. 11 Sep 1751, age 74 [8]. Anna was the dau. of Rev. John and Bridget (Thompson) Bowers of New Haven where he was the first minister in Derby and had 8 children including Ann [7]. She was b. 1699, d. 11 Jan 1744 in Derby, CT [6] [19] [21]. They had seven children. He lived the longest of the sons and lived on the parental homestead in Derby, CT, on the hill east of the village [31].
He was a man of positive character. He was high priest of Solomon Chapter, Free Masons, for 20 years [22]. He stood high as a Royal Arch Mason and was six times elected to the Legislature [19]. In 1702 a land contract gave Francis more land [7]. The first meeting house of Derby was erected in 1682. In 1718 Francis was one of 58 estate holders in Derby. No other Frenches are on this list. Prices of land ranged from 3 to 226 pounds, Francis having 90 pounds worth of land. In 1720 a fence was built on both sides of the Naugatuck River; the east side 770 rods and the west side 879 1/2 rods. Francis had to build a fence 32 rods long on his property on the east side. In 1721 Francis was one of 3 men on a committee to sell the meeting house because a second one was erected that year. The New Haven Probates, VIII, 44 lists his will probated 1 Oct 1751: Will dated 6 May 1751, "now on a Bed of Sickness"; to son Samuel, land at Hankhood so called, bnd. S on Ebenezer Keeny and Eliphalet Hotchkiss, E on Mordecai Marks, W and N or highways, with barn, and 1/2 right in Sequestered Land, divided and undivided, and the cow he now has in keeping; to son Israel, his land at Nioumphs; to son Nathaniel; to grandson Noah French, lot at Little DavidŐs Meadow, 15 acres with other land and goods; to 2 daus. Lydia and Hannah French, to sons Charles and Nathaniel; to dau. Mary Baldwin - land in 1st Division in Quakers Farm Purchase, lying west of Oxford Meeting House. Exec. are sons Samuel and Charles. Wit: Jonathan Hitchcock, Abigail Hitchcock, James Bradley. Inventory 5148.1.6 pounds. Francis is listed in Derby Patent, May 25, 1720. Nyumphs was a school district in Beaver Falls, about 2 miles back from Naugatuck River; also a small river that empties into the Housatonic below Derby [7].
2.9 Hannah or Jane/Jean French, b. 18 Nov 1679 [8] in Derby, CT, m. John Towner 13 Nov 1707, d. 4 May 1750 in Derby, CT [11]. Had daughter Hannah [7] [20].
