Finally, our long regional nightmare is over. Yesterday, after seeing a report in The Sun, a Timonium man stepped forward to take credit for dreaming up "Fear the turtle," the slogan that has become a rallying cry for University of Maryland basketball fans this season. His name is Drew Elburn. He's 32 and works for a computer consulting firm in Baltimore. And no, he didn't go to school at College Park - he attended Washington College. Elburn said he thought up the slogan three years ago as he and some friends drove to the MCI Center in Washington to watch the Terrapins play Stanford.

Mrs. Sara Elburn is a full-time contractual lecturer for the Department of Teacher Education at Salisbury University, 1101 Camden Ave., Salisbury, MD. She holds a B.S. of Education in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Salisbury University and a M.S. in Technology for Educators from Johns Hopkins University.
On our main campus, Mrs. Elburn works with elementary and early childhood teacher candidates, teaching ELED 318: Computers in Education each semester. She has also co-taught ELED 411: Internship Seminar, working with interns during their capstone experience. Mrs. Elburn oversees our education computer lab, acts as the LiveText coordinator for the Teacher Education Department, and serves as an academic advisor. She is a member of the UniversityÕs New Student Reader Committee.
Mrs. Elburn acts as the liaison to our Elementary Education Cohort Program, where SU students take all of their elementary education program classes at the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center on the campus of Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD. She also teaches ELED 416: Classroom Management, working with teacher candidates in the cohort.
Mrs. Elburn has represented the education departments as the Adjunct Liaison, has supervised interns in the field, and served for six years as the PDS Liaison to Pinehurst Elementary School in Wicomico County. She has co-presented PDS presentations and co-facilitated professional development opportunities, representing Salisbury University at the local, state, and national level.
